Copy, Paste, Duplicate

Users can quickly copy and paste actors and groups of objects for faster scene editing. To select multiple objects, hold Shift while selecting. When copying or duplicating objects with children, all children are also copied/duplicated.

Copy & Paste

To copy an object, press Ctrl+C on your keyboard. To paste the copied object, press Ctrl+V on your keyboard.

Details:

  • Works for individual actors or groups of 3D objects.

  • Can switch scenes and paste objects into the currently open scene.

  • Copy function available from context menu right-click.

  • Copied objects are pasted at current mouse location. If multiple, active object is placed at cursor.

Duplicate

To duplicate an object, press Ctrl+D on your keyboard.

Details:

  • Select object(s), press Ctrl+D to duplicate. Duplicates appear at original location(s).

  • Use translational gizmos to move before adding to scene.

  • Duplicate via context menu duplicates only active object.

Copying and Duplicating Physics

  • Copied objects maintain physics properties and original settings.

  • Objects attached by wires or constraints are also copied/duplicated.
